Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to participate in your programs?
The Community Theatre, Berkshire Program & Summer Musical Program are free.
These programs are funded in part by a grant from Baltimore Co. and the rest of
the costs are paid for by ticket sales and donations. The Saturday performing
arts class which runs approx. six months only cost $50. The Day camp
base fee is $200 for the entire 5 week session (extended hours available for an
additional fee).
Will I get
paid to perform\help?
No, With the exception of the few select people who actually work for the county
everyone is a volunteer.
Do I have
to have a disability to participate?
No. Persons with & without disabilities are allowed to participate almost all
our programs. However the Berkshire Program is limited to persons with
developmental disabilities.
Do I have to audition?
If you just want to participate as a background character or ensemble player
then, No audition is not necessary. However we would like to see you audition!
Everyone who would like to be considered for a lead or featured acting, singing
or dancing part is required to audition.
What if I don't want to sing\dance?
Then
you don't have to. However, Since all our shows are musicals you will have to
sing\dance if you want to be a lead or featured performer. If not you can
still be an ensemble member or audition for a non-singing part.
How do I
become part of the Tech Crew?
Just volunteer! During audition days just fill out the form & indicate you would
like to help backstage. You can also just show up at any rehearsal and pitch in.
How much of a commitment is expected of me?
Rehearsals are typically Monday & Weds nights from 6:30 to 8:30 & Saturday from
12-4. If you are cast in the show you will be expected to attend all of your
scheduled rehearsals. If you want to volunteer with the Tech Crew we do ask
that you be available for performances and if you can help build sets or
make costumes on rehearsal days that would be great!.
